Dear colleagues,

I am writing to kindly ask you to spread this below information among those who are looking for an opportunity to study in Russia and seek for a financial support.

I am pleased to inform that the 2nd Call for grant applications under Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programme (project AURORA) will be launched on October 24, 2013. Students and graduates from European universities are eligible to apply for the grants to study in a Russian University (non-degree and degree studies).

The AURORA project is coordinated by University of Turku (Finland) and is based on the partnership of 10 European and 10 Russian universities. The Aurora consortium offers an academic mobility programme for partner universities within the consortium (Target Group 1) and for applicants from any European and Russian universities (Target Group 2).

The grant consists of four parts:

1.     Travel costs: a return ticket to the host university

2.     Insurance costs: grant holders are insured by the project (health, travel and accident)

3.     Visa costs: costs of one standard visa (not residence permit) are reimbursed

4.     Subsistence allowance:

Master - 1 000 EUR / month

Doctorate - 1 500 EUR / month

Post-doctorate - 1 800 EUR / month

The duration of the mobility varies depending on the project and academic status:

Master - min. 1 semester/max. 22 months

Doctorate - 6-10 months

Post-doctorate - 6-10 months

The information on the project and application procedure is available at the AURORA project webpage: http://www.utu.fi/em-aurora/. The application period is 22.10.2013 – 11.12.2013.

Udmurt State University (Izhevsk, Russia) is a partner university within the AURORA consortium. It is a multidisciplinary university that offers a wide variety of Bachelor and Master  programmes in different fields, including Russian philology, Finno-Ugric studies, Fine Arts and Design, biology, physics, medical biotechnology, management, marketing, tourism and hospitality, economics, history, computer studies and others.

We enjoy the reputation of the HEI that is chosen by international students for its Russian language programmes of various levels, Russian and world history, the unique opportunity to study the Udmurt language (one of the minor Finno-Ugric languages).

UdSU is authorized to administer the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) that is a standardized test supervised by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and designed as part of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The TORFL certificate enables its holder to enroll at a Russian university, be eligible for a job in Russia or teach Russian.

To learn more of the study and research opportunities at UdSU visit our webpage at www.udsu.ru (in Russian) and http://v4.udsu.ru/english/ (in English).

We encourage students and graduates from Europe to take such an opportunity and apply for the grant to study at UdSU in the next academic year for degree or non-degree studies.

In case of any questions feel free to contact us at inter@uni.udm.ru.

Looking forward to your support.

Yours sincerely,
